Local Grub

People have always said that the food in the UK sucks. I refused to believe this statement, because I had gone to a few pubs and had some decent grub. This week, I realised that alot of the groceries sold in the supermarket are all imported.

To give you an example...
-Grapes were from Chile
-Lamb was from New Zealand hahaha
-Sweet Corn was from Morroco
-Bok Choi from Spain

I am still wondering why there is hardly any locally produce sold in the UK.
A Pom told me today that alot of the local produce was exported. Somehow I find that very hard to believe.

Can anyone shed any light?

P.S. I've been in London for 6 weeks now and I still haven't had any fish & chips or bangers & mash!
