Bank Holiday Long weekend in Kobenhavn

For the bank holiday long weekend, I went to Copenhagen (Denmark). There was a group of 10 Aussies, who were mostly from Melbourne. I had the pleasure of trekking out to Stanstead airport because we were flying easyjet.

We did all the touristy stuff like seeing the little mermaid statue, Tivoli Amusement Park and the Amelienborg Castle where the Danish royals live. We were hoping to bump into Princess Mary but she must have had something on that weekend.

The Whitsun carnival happened to be on that weekend. It was one mad street parade with some cool costumes and lots of dancing. It rained most of the time but that didn't dampen the festive spirit. Many of the girls in the parade were wearing next to nothing!

Unfortunately I didn't learn any Danish. We were lazy to learn. Everyone spoke english very well.

We stayed in a 1 star hotel which was an experience. Alisha did mention that we were slumming it. For 55GBP per night, all you got was a single bed and basin. There was a communal bathroom and communal toilet. However breakfast was included, we pigged out on
Danish pastries.
